Feeling generous today? We might have the right place for you to go for lunch, dinner or even a tea afternoon to enjoy yourself while helping others at the same time. The Café in the Crypt located in the Saint Martin’s church just next to Trafalgar Square, offers a hidden underground where tourists and locals can buy food and drinks. In fact, as the name says it, the “restaurant” is in the crypt of the church and part of the income is devoted to charity and to the church’s maintenance. The original brick-vaulted ceilings and the historic tombstones lining the floor give to the place an unusual charm. The menu changes every day of the week and the main dish is at a fix price of 9,95£. The place is self-service in a canteen style with quite simple furniture but the food is good and as said before, the context charming. When stopping there, don’t forget to try the delicious chocolate mousse, but be aware that it is super filling so it might be better to share it with someone (for your line and for your wallet!).
