We do not know about you but one of the first things that comes to our mind when we think Spain is … Tapas!
And that's exactly the first thing we did after unpacking.
But they have a real taste of "come back" so we admit we did not go once.
In this article we will give you several tips on nice tapas places.
GÜELL -
Located near the Ramblas just in front of the Palau Guëll which is a jewel of the artist Gaudi for his friend the political figure Eusebi Güell, this restaurant with that hold the name Güell is a nice place to go to taste the Tapas. The principle of tapas is to order several dishes to share them with others.
So in the place is separate into three parts and you can eat in the open courtyard. A simple decoration in wood with some touches of old and typical Catalan region objects, will make you feel cosy.
Whether it's the pitcher of white or red sangria, or the mojito you also have a whole other choice of wine or cocktail that are just as delicious. As for the meal, the tapas are really exquisite.
You can eat with two and pay only 40€.
LA FLAUTA -
Must to do! The restaurant is located in the Exiample just a short distance from Universitat. The staffs are very smiling, welcoming and efficient. It’s on two floors with a decoration and a simple atmosphere. The products are all-fresh and cook on site according to your order. I brought a friend to discover the tapas, we were both delighted. Although you can order pan con tomato and Iberico jamon, if you go there it is to taste their fish and seafood. Their products are really excellent and cook to perfection.
The portions will be a little smaller than other tapas restaurants but you will still be able to share with two or more people.
The prices are a little higher: I would count 30 euros per person but the price-quality ratio is justified.
CUIDAD CONDAL -
A real favorite at all levels.
Note 4.4 on Tripadvisor, and located on the Rambla de Ctalunya (up the Plaça de Catalunya) this restaurant is a small wonder.
At all hours of the day you will see a crazy wainting line !
For once, follow your instinct, be patient and go for it!
So you have to make your way between people who drink and those who wait for their turn to be able to give your name and the number of people you are at the desk to register your reservation and they give you an estimation of your waiting time. They will make a call to the microphone when your turn comes and your table is ready. During this time, that may seem endless, you can of course order a drink.
With large chandeliers, mirrors, and floral arrangements, the decoration plunges you into a Baroque era.
The service is extremely efficient and friendly. And the tapas are still of another level. It's crazy, it's easy to say that tapas are all the same, but the flavours and techniques according to the places change radically. And here I discovered new flavours. With a glass of wine and 5 tapas dishes I'm paid 25 euros.
PS: Look at the pictures to get an idea of what to order :)
